Samoa, South Pacific
Samoa felt like a homecoming — soulful, authentic, and deeply connected to nature. The moment I landed, I could sense the slower rhythm of life and the deep pride Samoans have in their traditions.
My days in Upolu were filled with natural wonders — swimming in the famous To Sua Ocean Trench (a turquoise sinkhole surrounded by jungle), exploring the cascading Afu Aau Waterfalls, and wandering through small coastal villages where time seemed to pause. Sundays here are sacred — not just for church, but for family, feasting, and reflection.
Savai’i, the larger island, offered a wilder side of Samoa. Lava fields, blowholes, and untouched beaches made it feel like nature’s secret masterpiece. Everywhere I went, the warmth of Fa’a Samoa — “the Samoan way” — was woven into daily life, reminding me how community and respect for the land shape this incredible culture.
