Taranga Zoo, Sydney, Australia

Crossing Sydney Harbour by ferry, the skyline fading behind us, we arrived at Taronga Zoo, one of the world’s most scenic zoos. Perched on the harbour’s edge, it offers not just amazing wildlife encounters but some of the best views of the city.

From cuddly koalas to playful kangaroos, and even cheeky penguins, every corner was full of surprises. The zookeeper talks added fun insights, giving a peek into animal behaviour and conservation efforts. I especially loved the Sky Safari cable car, which provided a bird’s-eye view of the zoo and the harbour beyond.

Spending the day here was a joyful mix of education, adventure, and pure fun. Families, couples, and solo travellers alike will find something to delight in. And after a full day, there’s nothing better than reflecting on the animals’ charm while looking out at the sparkling harbour.
