Cambridge, UK

Our short stay in Cambridge was everything an English getaway should be — charming, full of history, and effortlessly beautiful. Set along the River Cam, the city feels like a storybook come to life, with college spires, cobbled lanes, and tranquil gardens around every corner.

We spent our days wandering through the historic colleges, each more stunning than the last — King’s College Chapelwas a highlight, its soaring architecture and stained glass absolutely breathtaking. A gentle punt along the River Camoffered the perfect way to take it all in — gliding past the Bridge of Sighs, hearing stories from our student guide, and watching the world drift by.

Cambridge is a city made for strolling — we explored the Market Square, browsed independent bookshops, and found cosy cafés tucked between stone buildings. The Fitzwilliam Museum was a wonderful surprise too, with its impressive art and artefacts (and free entry!). As evening fell, the soft glow of the streetlights reflected on the river, and it was easy to see why so many fall in love with this university city.

Whether you’re visiting for a day or a weekend, Cambridge has that rare mix of beauty, culture, and calm. Perfect for history lovers, photography enthusiasts, or anyone who simply enjoys a slower pace in a stunning setting.
